The Collings Teen Center invests in the lives of young people in the West Sacramento Community. Our purpose is to Embrace, Engage and Empower.
Designed to be a safe place where young people will always feel welcomed to hangout after school, a place where computers, basketball, games and activities are blended with tutoring, community service, educational seminars, and trips outside the area, job training and connection to men and women who are leaders in the community.
Many of the young people who utilize the resources the Teen Center offers are from some of the most challenged areas of the community economically. The commitment of the Collings Teen Center is that no young person will be turned away from any activity due to lack of finances.
The Collings Teen Center offers a free meal in the afternoon for each and every young person who comes through the door. Many families in the area around the Teen Center struggle to put food on the table and young people are hungry. “I am convinced that if it were not for the facilities and programs that the Collings Teen Center provides, many more of our youth would be involved in drugs, gangs, and other negative behaviors. The entire community needs to be aware of and support this valuable resource in our community” Chief Dan Drummond, West Sacramento Police Department, Retired.
Young people need caring adults in their lives that will be a positive influence, listen to their issues, encourage good decisions, and celebrate their successes.
We invite you to become a sponsor of the Collings Teen Center and to give financially or provide services that will impact local young lives. Donations can be made directly to the Collings Teen Center, P.O. Box 156 West Sacramento, CA 95691.
On behalf of the young people we serve…Thank You!
